yoga and relaxation

Have you thoughtfully considered the enrichment yoga can bring to children’s lives? If you are interested in a yoga and relaxation workshop for children, you can connect with me through this button.

In our fast-paced, performance oriented world, we are rearing a new generation. We all want this generation to be happy, strong and successful, right? And not any less important, we want our children to be satisfied with who they are and what they accomplish.

A college degree, a well paid job, achievements in sport are unfortunately no guarantee for a happy and successful life. Studies reveal us that when children grow up with a sense of self-control or self-discipline, they will be happier! Not only in the long run, but also in the present moment.

Yoga, Meditation and Relaxation offers children the possibility to explore and strengthen their self-control. Through yoga-exercises and reflection through personal relaxation techniques, children will get to know themselves, and what their bodies needs better. Yoga offers tools that not only strengthen body, mind and soul, yoga brings back harmony. When feeling overwhelmed or stressed out by school, tests or high expectations from the outside world threaten to discourage your child, these tools can give them the confidence to practice a path towards inner peace.

In Yoga, children don’t need to perform, at its very core yoga is non-competitive. The philosophy in yoga is all about finding your way to self-acceptance. With yoga comes a sense of self-love, therefore it will increase self-confidence. Children will experience the feeling of being good as they are.

Playful breath exercises and relaxation techniques help the children to connect with themselves on a deeper level. It will teach them how to regulate themselves when negative emotions arise. It will help them calm down when they find themselves overactive in their energy.

In my workshops there is place for at least 5 and up to 10 children. Depending on their age, the duration of a yoga workshop is 45-90 minutes.

“Rachel has been a gift to The Pearl Project! She has partnered with us to provide yoga classes to children with a history of trauma. Her peaceful presence, combined with her playful spirit, disarm fear and promote peace in children who often live in fight/flight or freeze mode. Rachel uses fun and creative movement to help children learn how to regulate their bodies. Most importantly, she connects with each child and encourages them to see their value.”
